All workshops and presentations take place in the Herbal Dispensary of Newtownpark Clinic, unless otherwise stated.

All events are pre booked as places are limited.

Please contact the clinic to book your selected course.

A 50% deposit is required to secure booking and the balance to be paid on the day of the workshop. All deposits are non refundable, unless at least 7 days notice of cancellation is given.

Each participant will receive course notes, herb samples and class materials at each course.

Due to the busy nature of the practice, Ciara will no longer be providing regular workshops and talks. All further public speaking events and workshops will be advertised on Irishherbalists FaceBook page

This presentation and workshop covers the essentials in building a strong immune system to prevent / reduce the likelihood of succumbing to a cold or flu. Prevention is the key. This practical hands on workshop will focus on the many uses of herbal medicines and pure ingredients in natural skincare products. This presentation is designed for those suffering from skin conditions and for those seeking to maintain and enhance a healthy complexion. Many skin disorders manifest from internal disharmony and congestion in one or more of the organs of elimination. Ciara will will explain how impurity in the bloodstream which manifests as acne, boils, pimples, dryness or oily skin occurs. The importance of systemic cleansing of the bowels, kidneys, liver, lymph and bloodstream using herbal medicines and nutrition will be presented. This Spring Workshop incorporates a local herb walk, classroom based learning and a practical workshop.

Starting with a local herb walk, Medical Herbalist, Ciara Murphy will safely identify and harvest herbal medicines which are abundant in parks, fields and hedgerows of Dublin. Spring is the best season to harvest leaves as they have new sap in them. It is also a wonderful time to cleanse the body. We will identify and harvest stinging nettle, red clover, dandelion, burdock, chickweed and horsetail along with other traditional spring herbs. An emphasis is placed on respecting both the habitat and the individual plants.

Returning to the Herbal Dispensary a presentation on the medicinal values of the herbs harvested will be taught. This is followed by a practical workshop using the plants harvested to make herbal teas;infusions and decoctions, tinctures, vinegars, foods, skin creams, ointments and salves, poultices and fomentations. A healthy lunch is included using the many seasonal plants and living foods available.

Please Note: Wear suitable footwear and clothing. This walk will proceed regardless of weather conditions.

This presentation is aimed for all women seeking to enhance conception naturally. You will learn why and when these naturopathic techniques should be used. The results of these treatments in combination with herbs relieve pain, detoxify specific organ and systemic congestion, activate circulation and increase elimination.

An emphasis is placed on respecting both the habitat and the individual plants.

Returning to the Herbal Dispensary a presentation on the medicinal values of the herbs harvested will be taught. This is followed by a practical workshop using the plants harvested to formulate teas: infusions and decoctions, tinctures, vinegars, foods, skin creams, ointments and salves, poultices and fomentations.

Heart attacks and circulatory disorders are often a “disease of the knife and fork”. The heart to poets, artists and spiritual healers is the key to our emotional well-being. In this workshop participants will learn the normal reference ranges of blood pressure, cholesterol and other tests that are frequently used to assess the health of the circulatory system. Ciara will educate you on diet, with an emphasis on plant based foods, the good and bad fats, stress management and exercise. Herbal medicines such as garlic, hawthorn, cayenne, dandelion root and red clover amongst others will all be taught, along with natural healing techniques to cleanse, strengthen and improve the circulation
