History of Reflexology
Modern reflexology is based on an ancient form of therapy. There is evidence to suggest that hand and foot reflexology had been practised in China as long as 4,000 B.C. And also at the same time in Egypt, as depicted in the tomb of Ankmahor. The North American tribes of Indians are know to have practised a form of foot therapy for hundreds of years.
It was brought to modern attention by a physiotherapist named Eunice Ingham (1889- 1974). She was a real pioneer who was determined to educate and train people in the art of reflexology. Eunice Ingham helped map the feet with all the corresponding organs and glands of the body. Ms Ingham authored two well know books “Stories the Feet Can Tell” and “Stories the Feet Have Told”.
